Choteau, Montana: Hotbed of Mediocrity
Posted on January 18th, 2008 by blue collar scientistAs is being widely reported, the school board in Choteau, Montana, had an opportunity to have a Nobel Prize winning scientist give a talk to high school students in their district. So they invited him, and he agreed to come.
Then when he got there, they canceled the invitation and refused to let him speak.
The reason, of course, is that in Choteau, Montana, the concept of climate change is “controversial.” The school superintendent explained that he or others feared that the talk would be “anti-agricultural” and that there would be no “opposing viewpoints” available, and that therefore canceling the talk was the “neutral” thing to do.
‘Cause who wants to do the right thing, when you can do the neutral thing.
The only places global warming is controversial are places where the people hate evolution because they are wrapped up in religious extremism. Global warming denailism and extreme forms of Christianity and Islam go hand-in-hand - they have the same origin, the same activists work both issues, and they use the same strategy to achieve their perverted ends. Unlike the evolution “debate,” though, when it comes to global warming, “teaching the controversy” is not tolerated. The only thing the extremists will tolerate is silencing the people they disagree with.
